 As our Technical Procurement Expert, you will play a vital role in sourcing and acquiring the machinery and equipment necessary for our state-of-the-art recycling plant. Your expertise will ensure that tozero operates at peak efficiency, and your strategic approach will help us build strong supplier relationships while contributing to our mission of revolutionizing lithium-ion battery recycling.

Please be aware that tozero does not offer any remote (zero remote) - we believe in building a strong culture at this stage of the company, especially with engineers having to work on-site in the plant and lab.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

What you can expect 

• Strategic Procurement: Develop and implement procurement strategies for sourcing critical machinery and materials needed for recycling processes.
• Contract Negotiation and Supplier Relations: Build and maintain a reliable supplier network. Manage and negotiate contracts to ensure favorable terms that meet our technical and financial objectives.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, operations, and finance teams to align procurement strategies with company goals and project timelines.
• Cost Management: Develop and manage budgets for procurement activities. Implement cost-saving strategies while ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Supply Chain Oversight: Manage the entire supply chain process from order initiation to delivery, ensuring timely execution and compliance with technical specifications.
• Risk Management: Proactively evaluate and respond to supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential disruptions.
• Inventory Optimization: Refine inventory management practices to optimize operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Performance Monitoring: Implement and oversee KPIs to monitor and evaluate supply chain performance continuously.

Your profile

The background we would like to see

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in deep tech, renewable energy, or plant construction sectors.
• Education: A degree in engineering, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of technical specifications and performance metrics. A good understanding of metallurgical or chemical engineering processes to align effectively with technical teams is a plus.
• Negotiation Skills: Strong capabilities in negotiating deals, focusing on optimal technological, economic, and strategic outcomes.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
• Autonomy and Teamwork: Ability to independently manage projects while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Adaptability: Flexible and solution-oriented approach, capable of navigating the uncertainties of a startup environment
